Psychotherapy for Relationship Issues

Together we find paths to conscious closeness and relationship building.

When relationships feel confining, it's time to develop new ways of connecting.

When Closeness and Distance Are Out of Balance

Relationships are one of the most important factors for our well-being – and at the same time one of the greatest challenges. Whether in partnerships, family, professional life, at work, or in friendships: when relationships burden rather than strengthen, overall quality of life suffers.
Perhaps you experience recurring conflicts, feel unseen or misunderstood in relationships, have difficulties with closeness or setting boundaries, or are going through a painful separation.
In my practice in Bochum, I support you in understanding your relationship patterns and developing new, healthier ways of connecting. I work with individuals – not couples.
Change begins with ourselves. When you understand which inner patterns shape your relationships, you can actively take new paths.

How Do Relationship Problems Develop?

Our relationship patterns are significantly shaped in childhood. The experiences we have with our first attachment figures form our expectations, fears, and behaviors in later relationships.
For example, if our own needs were not seen in childhood, we may have difficulty expressing our wishes in relationships as adults – or we may act in an over-adapted way, overriding our own boundaries.
These patterns usually run unconsciously and show up particularly in close relationships. In therapy, we make these patterns visible and gradually develop new, more beautiful ways of relating.
It's not about assigning blame to yourself or others, but about developing understanding and expanding your options for action.

My Therapeutic Approach to Relationship Issues and Conflicts

HER & HIS – Steps towards clarified, fulfilling relationships. A universal concept that promotes emotional agency and connection. Both approaches begin with awareness – yet they differ in direction: HER leads inward, HIS directs outward into the relationship. Only in their interplay does a third path emerge: a conscious, clear, and vibrant togetherness that is no longer governed by unconscious back and forth.

Develop Stance & Show Presence (Body-Oriented Approaches and Perspective Work)

You develop a clear inner stance and strengthen your presence in contact with others. This gives you stability and self-awareness, so you can communicate clearly and authentically.

Understand Interaction (Depth Psychology & Schema Therapy)

You recognize where conflicts arise: Who reacts to whom and how? Which dynamics repeat themselves? How do you yourself affect the relationship? This understanding creates orientation and self-awareness in interpersonal dynamics.

S

Steer & Act (ACT / Resource Work)

You learn to consciously steer your behavior and remain capable of action even in challenging situations. This enables you to shape relationships actively, clearly, and responsibly.

Note on the Application of HER & HIS

The concepts HER and HIS do not refer to men or women, but to different feminine and masculine dynamics. Every person can use both paths – depending on which aspects are particularly important in their personality or relationship at the moment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important questions about therapy for relationship issues.

No, I work with individuals. Often the relationship dynamic changes when one person begins to understand their patterns and try new behaviors. Couples therapy is not part of my offering.
Absolutely. A separation can be one of the most painful experiences in life. In therapy, I support you in processing it and help you emerge stronger from the experience.
First, we get an overview of your situation and your relationship patterns. Then we work specifically on the topics that burden you most. You set the pace.
The scope of therapy depends on the depth of your issues. In many cases, an initial good clarification can be achieved after just 3–5 sessions. For deeper relationship patterns, longer support may be beneficial – always tailored and self-determined at your pace.
As a psychotherapist (HPG), I do not bill statutory health insurers directly. Therefore, my services must be self-funded.
